None of this is exotic. It is the ordinary work of getting dried agricultural produce into a container so it arrives in the same condition it left. Most problems come from skipping one of these.
Every lot- Moisture measured with a meter, not judged by hand. Recorded per lot and stated on the packing list.
- Sorted for foreign matter. Stones, soil, stems, other roots. This is slow manual work and it is where most cheap lots cut corners.
- Mould and insect check on the dried product before it is bagged, not after.
- Size grading where the buyer specifies it. Slice thickness for ginger and turmeric, length for cinnamon.
- Mesh size on powder. Standard is 60 to 80 mesh, and we will run finer if a buyer specifies it and the order justifies a separate mill run.
